NASENI, DRDB to Partner on Reverse Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Others…for National Development.

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) have agreed to work together in the areas of reverse engineering, 3D Portal for printing complex structures and Solar Energy.

Speaking when the Director-General of DRDB Air Vice Marshal U.P. Uzezi and his team paid a visit to NASENI today in Abuja, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, Engr. Prof. M.M.S.Haruna said DRDB was assisting the Agency to implement its mandate which encourages collaboration with other organizations including supporting research and development(R&Ds) efforts of the Agency both within and outside Nigeria.

According to the EVC/CE, NASENI has been working together with the Nigerian Armed Forces in capacity building, training and other areas of national development and would be happier to work with DRDB in all areas it had indicated interests.

Professor Haruna expressed his appreciation that Air Vice Marshall Uzezi has continued to follow the footsteps of his former Director General and also sustaining the standards set by his predecessors.

“It is necessary that we collaborate and to work together including rendering supports to other research and development Agencies of government.

“The mandate of NASENI reflected in all that you have stated especially the “3D Printing Operations. NASENI has been in it for a while now. We also have engineers that could assist in Artificial Intelligence. NASENI has the capability and the specialization and is willing to work with the DRDB”.said Prof.Haruna.

Earlier in his remarks, the Director-General of DRDB, Air Vice Marshal U.P Uzezi said that DRDB had paid key interests in the tremendous achievements of NASENI especially Research and Development and has come to seek possible areas of collaboration with the Agency which would provide directives for the activities of military operations in Nigeria.

According to him, DRDB would like to collaborate with NASENI in the areas of reverse engineering, identify related subject matters both within and outside the country on physics, electronics, artificial intelligence, 3D Printer production, solar energy amongst other areas where the Agency specializes.

“Because of our focus on Research and Development and Engineering drive, we have decided to work with NASENI because the agency has the capabilities which other industries do not have and we are here to explore these areas and collaborate with you to leverage on them for the development of the military and the country at large”, he stated.

Both institutions have agreed to set up technical teams from both sides to put into practical realities all that had been agreed upon.
