In an effort to strengthen Science, Engineering and Technology in Nigeria, Engineer Per Excellence, the Workaholic Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) Engr. Prof. M. S. Haruna led the Agency Management Team for an official working visit to His Excellency, Executive Governor of Imo State Sen. Hope Odidika Uzodinma in Government House Owerri, Imo State southeast Nigeria.
Engr. Prof. M. S. Haruna expressed gratitude to God for arriving Imo safely and appreciated the Governor for receiving the NASENI team despite his tight schedules. He said, “my desire is to achieve the mandate of the Agency and the presidential directives.”
He commended the Governor for transforming the state with massive infrastructure and proposed for NASENI collaboration.
Prof. Haruna further explained the achievements of the Agency through presentation and said this is just few out of many.
He stressed the need for Nigeria as a nation to embrace science, engineering, and technology citing examples with the developed nations, and said it is also achievable in Nigeria.
Governor Hope Uzodinma welcomed the NASENI team and lauded the effort of Engr. Prof. M. S. Haruna in moving and transforming Engineering, Science, Technology in line with the change mantra of President Muhammad Buhari Administration.
Governor Hope Uzodinma thanked the Executive Vice Chairman for projecting positive progress for Imo state and assured his commitment to support the Agency. He said he really needs more presence of NASENI in Imo State.
He charged NASENI to maintain the tempo and said he is sure with the present management, NASENI will make Nigerians proud in this era of the digital economy.
He said “I was hearing about NASENI but today with what I saw I am convinced that with NASENI in no distance time, Nigeria will attain global standard in technological innovations and inventions because the Agency has risen to its occasion under the leadership of Prof. M. S. Haruna.”
He said today’s visit would impact the life of Imo people and Nigerians as a country, he called on NASENI helmsman to do his best to prioritize Nigerian technological needs by extending the services to Agriculture, Aviation, Defence Industry, or otherwise alternative energy.
Governor Hope Uzodinma called for a review to make NASENI the umbrella body to take over functions of Automated Industry in partnership with Defense Industry Corporation so that our country will have a direction for more technological development, he said.
