    Prof. GORDIAN O. EZEKWE

    The late Professor Gordian Obumneme Ezekwe became the first Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NASENI. He undertook several postgraduate engineering apprenticeships in industries in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He began his academic career in Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology in 1960 as a lecturer in mechanical engineering and 1966, senior lecturer in mechanical engineering at UNN. After the Civil War, he was promoted to a professor in mechanical engineering in 1974. He was one of the leaders of the famous Science Group during the Nigeria civil war, where he made outstanding contributions in engineering design and fabrication. He was also appointed by the Federal Government as the Director/CEO of Project Development Institute (PRODA) from 1976 1989, during which he founded SEDI-E in 1979. In January 1992 he was appointed the first executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, a post he held until his death in June 1997.

    DR. TIMOTHY OBIAGA

    Dr. Timothy Obiaga became the Director-General/Chief Executive in 1997. Dr. Obiaga continued where his predecessor left, thereby ensuring that there was continuity in fulfilling the mandate of the Agency.

    Prof. OLUSEGUN O. ADEWOYE

    Late Professor Oyeleke Olusegun Adewoye, was an erudite scholar from University Manchester, England. He obtained a Ph.D in metallurgy and material science at the University of Cambridge in 1976. Within five years, he established two new specialized high tech centres to join the six already in existence in the agency.

    Prof. MOHAMMED SANI HARUNA

    Professor Haruna holds a PhD and master of engineering degrees in electrical engineering from Bayero University Kano and a second PhD and Masters of Philosophy degrees in Entrepreneurship from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Nairobi – Kenya. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (FAEng) and COREN, a chartered engineer with the United Kingdom Engineering Council (U.K), a fellow of several Institutes of engineering and technology, fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and a fellow of Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (FSESN) among others. He has various publications in national and international journals, and he is an author of three reputable textbooks. Prof Haruna has recorded several remarkable achievements that has intervened in various sectors of national development. These include the successful take-off of NASENI Solar Energy Limited (NSEL), ongoing projects on establishment of transformer manufacturing plant, establishment of a high voltage laboratory, development of UAV projects and food processing machinery for agricultural purposes, amongst others.

    DR. BASHIR GWANDU

    Dr Gwandu holds a number of masters degrees, as well as a PhD in electrical engineering from prestigious universities around the world. He has designed many devices that are used in the telecoms, oil/gas, power, defense, and aviation industries, some of which have been patented in Europe and the United States. He is a chartered electrical engineer, and a fellow of the prestigious Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) UK. Whilst in the academia, he published over 40 Electronic and Electrical Engineering Research papers in electrical engineering journals and conference proceedings. Gwandu also served as Acting EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2010, he was the Executive Commissioner for Engineering and Technical Standards at the Commission. Dr Gwandu was part of a number of Nigerian Presidential/Ministerial think-tank committees including Vision 20-2020, Nigerian ICT RoadMap, the Launch committee of the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComsat-1) and the National Broadband Plan 2020-2025. He represented Nigeria and sometimes Africa, as a lead speaker at a number of UN World Telecommunications conferences.
